Ok so here is what I have:

MacBook Pro 13" newest model
8gb 1333 ram
500gb HDD
Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB
2.3 GHz Intel Core i5

Problem:

I start up SC2 ram usage not even denting my total available, cpu with 75% idle every things fine on that end, but my fan kicks in and is loud as hell ?? any reasons, defect? idk any help welcomed.

It has to do with the Sandy Bridge GPU sharing the processor die. Thus requiring more cooling power from the fan.

Same thing happens with my Mini while botting AKA multitasking in WoW.

It's really nothing to worry about. Freak out if you idle and your fans are going full blast.
