Macbook pro 13" not displaying 4k correctly

I have just purchased a 4k tv LG 42UB820V and when connect my MBP to it and change to res to 4k it does not display correctly and just shows multiple versions of my screen with lines going through them.

If anyone has experienced this problem and knows a fix to it, it would be great to know.

Did you connect it via HDMI or DisplayPort? The HDMI output of the MB does not support 4k, DP is the only option. If the latter is the case, your issue might be the cable.

What model is your MBP. Any one late 2013 or later will run 4K over HDMI albeit at 30Hz. Any 13 inch one earlier than that does not have 4K support.
