Hi there

I have a 13" MacBook Pro i5 (latest gen).

Sometimes, after having my laptop case closed for a shot period of time or for many hours, I notice that it tends to be slow upon opening the case.

It'll wake up up and then be laggy. Sometimes it'll even freeze and I have to force quit the main app running. Most of the time I can't click around because it's too busy processing stuff.

However, I have experienced times where this has never been an issue.

I've noticed this no matter what apps I have open which is usually: Safari, Mail, iCal, and iTunes (using about 2.29 GB out of 4 atm according to Act Mon).

Could this be a problem with the OS? Should I archive and reinstall?

This computer set up from a backup I had from a previous laptop.

All my software is up to date too.

Any ideas?

Try running Verify Disk Permissions and Verify Disk. Both are run from the Disk Utility application. HD\Applications\Utilities\Disk Utility.app
