So I've got the 2013 retina 13inch MPB and i was just playing with a pin and dropped it and it stuck to my macbook pro, the bottom right and left of the palm rest basically acts like a magnet any metal i put near it it pulls in!? is this normal?

There is a magnet in the lower part of the case. That's how the lid stays shut.

The speakers are located at the left and right front corners, so the magnetism is probably from the speaker magnet. If there's a corresponding magnet on the lid, the right speaker magnet is also being used to hold the lid closed. Have you checked the left side? The iFixit tear-down shows nothing in the corners after the speakers are removed.
