macbook pro 13inch 2009, boot up CD

So I have a macbook pro 13 inch mid 2009 and I no longer have my bootCD and appCD. I need the app cd and can't use my brother's one since it says it is not for my specific laptop.

In a few days I am getting a new SSD and I was wondering if:

1. I can use his boot CD to install the OS (snow leopard)

2. If I use his bootCD, will I be able to use his appCD?

Call Apple and get them to send you the grey Mac OS X reinstallation and software discs.

I guess it would make more sense for me to just wait for mountain lion to come out then and buy the OS & App stuff for that.

Why wouldn't they? They are not the ones that lost the discs.
