Macbook Pro 13inch mid 2010 - RAM Help

I have the base 13" MacBook Pro with the 4 gigs of RAM, looking to upgrade to 8 gig which I believe is the max but have a couple of questions.
1.) Apple.com sells it for $400, anywhere cheaper?
2.) Would it increase it's performance that much? I tend to use Aperture, Photoshop CS5 at the same time and it seems slow
