Greetings,

I've ordered a Macbook Pro 15" 2.66 Ghz and i have a few questions after browsing the forum and i hope there are others like me who basically wonders the same thing.

Today i also ordered a Seagate Momentus 7200.4 ST9500420AS Harddrive to replace the stock 320 Gb one. I can't cancel the order at this very moment but i might be able tomorrow morning to switch to the Western Digital Blue Scorpion. I have a WD Raptor on my desktop pc and im extremely pleased with it, hence a WD might be the better choice in terms of quality and durability experience etc. It is cheaper but i can afford both. I'm a bit puzzled now on what to do honestly. The discussion about the "Firmware upgrade's" about the Sata 1.5 to 3.0 has worried me.

This MBP is literally all my money and a big investment for me.. I realize that the worst that can happen regarding the Harddrive is that i will be forced to use the stock harddrive to get it run smoothly.

I'm also concerned about overheating while playing games. I will use the Laptop for everything, i realize its a powerfull machine but i have read some users complaning about their Laptop is being overheated and it has made me slightly concerned.

My setup will be something like:

Mac OS X 10.5.7 Primary Operation system.
MS Windows 7/XP running with bootcamp and possibly use VMware Fusion to access Windows from Leopard on occasion.

I might endup using bootcamp a lot the time as i have been using Windows for my entire life, that being said Macbook Pro is a fine laptop, low weight a killer design and since you are able to run Windows/Linux under the physical hardware it's not a virtualisation which has really catched my eye for this product.

To wrap it up..

1. Should i swap the Seagate for the WD 500? (performance / firmware)

2. Will overheating be a problem or this are just parnoid people complaining?

3. Are there any childsicknesses that i should keep an extra eye for while getting my baby?

I wish you all the best
