Hi everyone. I have a macbook pro 15" 2007 with an nvidia 8600GT. A very strange thing started happening today; random graphics glitches have started appearing. First, on certain parts of the screen, the white border around the mouse cursor turns a shade of purple. Also, when you open or close a finder window, a few frames of the the animation turn purple. This has never happened before, and I can't think of any recent updates or programs that could have caused the issues. The issue persists even after a reboot. Pretty minor issues that I can live with, but is it possible that my nvidia graphics card is starting to die?

If you have the confidence to use iFixit's guide and take your laptop apart...
Take the logicboard out and put it in the oven for 7mins at 200c (without fan assist) and be sure to remove all meltable parts.
This should bring it back to life, I have done this repair with 4 mbp's now and its worked everytime.
