MacBook Pro '15 (2011) Resolution Reset

Everytime I reboot my brand new MacBook Pro (15", 2.0GHz Quad Core i7), the resolution resets to 600x800. It shows this low resolution during the apple and the pinwheel and the login screen (which looks all distorted at this low resolution). As soon as I log in, the native resolution automatically restores itself. It stays that way till I next reboot.

Ideas? I already tried the "detect displays".
