So here is the story:
I carelessly spilled my cup of coffee smack dab on top of my keyboard, instantly frying it and denting the crap out of my top case. I immediately drained the coffee and took apart the laptop to survey the internal damage and clean it up before the coffee fried everything. In my haste, I managed to forget about the two almost hidden screws in the battery bay. Needless to say, when I gently tried to rock the top case off to get a better look under the hood, I essentially wound up twisting the metal off the underside of the top case and also breaking whatever the top case snaps into on the bottom case. Luckily for me, the coffee spill was contained to the keyboard only and I have full usage of my Macbook Pro still, but am currently using a wireless keyboard.
I have already ordered a replacement keyboard and top case off eBay. I'm ready to install them, but here is my question:
What is that little part called that the top case snaps into on the bottom case? It's the one that those two screws hold under the battery and it is directly behind the front latch that the screen snaps into. I know it has two small black tabs that the screws go into. All I need is that little piece.
Someone help! If you know what it is called and can suggest where to find one (already tried eBay) it would be sincerely appreciated.
Thanks guys!
