So i have encountered this exact problem with a few logic baords I have recieved. All are the alluminum macbook pro. One a 17" A1212 and another was the 15" A1226. ITs not the hard drive. Its the logic baord itself.
The problem is exactly the same. I hook up the components and attatch the power cable. Once it is powered on, I jsut hear a ticking noice. IT engages power, loses power and reengages power. Sounds exactly like a watch ticking. The fan may move a tiny bit each click, on one the screen even flickers the backlight each time it clicks. The clicking comes from right around where the DC board plugs into the logic board.
Has anyone encountered this isssue and know what may be casuign it on the logic board. It seems prety common since I have seen this about 3 times with the last 20 boards I have tested. Seems lime like it would be soemthign specific. thanks
