MacBook Pro 15 blinking screen

in a couple of months my Macbook pro will run out of warranty ( 1 year )
yesterday after closing the monitor and reopening the screen start blinking / flickering
I rebooted and it fixed

Can be an hardware problem? Since rebooting fixed I doubt but I prefer to check in case is a known issue

Could well be a problem with the videochip. Use the warranty i would suggest.

I have this sometimes,maybe twice a month. A colleague of mine experiences this a couple of times every week. Closing the lid, letting the laptop sleep and then awake it up will usually fix it.

It all feels like a Gen 1 product. Which it is.

I recently purchased the same 15"MBP and while I plan on returning it on Sunday, prior to WWDC, this happened to me too.. which just further justifies my reasoning to return it.

i'm experiencing the same behaviour. has anyone talked to support (in-store or telephone) about this?

i was strongly leaning towards software related, but since even big version jumps have not fixed this for me, i start wondering...

i'm on a mbp 15 late 2016 btw.
