I ordered a Macbook Por 15" with the Dedicated GPU and I'm now looking for a monitor to go with it

The one I want to get is the Samsung U32D970Q but I don't see the monitor on Apples 4K support page. Are the monitors that are on the support page the only ones that will work? If not and this monitor does/can work, do I need any extra cables to get this to work? What kind of cable do I need?

That monitor should work with your computer at 4K resolution. According to the website, in order to have 4K at 60 hz you need to use the thunderbolt port on your computer. That means HDMI won't work give you 4k.
