I just updated my Girfriend's macbook pro 15" (5,1 late 2008 unibody) to Mountain Lion and she says that the colors look washed out. When I went to the display profiles it said that it could not find the factory profile for the display so there is nothing I can do.

Has anyone else encountered this issue? I googled the crap out of it and I couldn't find anything useful.

Can you not run a calibration anyway? Factory settings are useless for color accuracy.

It will not allow me to run any calibration on any profile because of this. I can't even select a different profile (or at least when I do nothing changes).

If you a serious about color calibration, you purchase a version of Spyder or Munki. Depending on the version you can also calibrate a color printer.

I am not just trying to calibrate it correctly I am trying to calibrate it at all. When I try the following error comes up (paraphrased as I am not in front of the computer):

Cannot calibrate. The factory profile for this display is not available.

As soon as I can I will post a screenshot so you can see.
