MacBook Pro 15" (Early 2011) and USB to Serial (GUC232A)

Has anyone else had issues with USB on the new MacBook Pro 15" (Early 2011) models?

The IOGear GUC232A USB to Serial adapter does not want to be recognized by the system. It works fine on any of the older MBP's.

I have contacted IOGear support to see if they have an updated driver, but they have yet to get back to me...

Argh! Forgot that I was running OSX in 64 bit mode...

Does anyone know of a 64 bit Prolific USB to Serial driver?

Should have searched first...

Drivers can be found on Apple's website:

http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/drivers/prolificpl2303driverfor64bitmacosx.html

1) Download the file and unzip
2) Open up terminal
3) Copy to /System/Library/Extensions
'sudo cp -R osx-pl2303.kext /System/Library/Extensions'
4) Load the extension
'sudo kextload /System/Library/Extensions/osx-pl2303.kext'
5) Plug in USB to Serial

I have a MacBook Pro and really need the new drivers for Lion.

For those still looking for a driver, I went to the Prolific website and found the updated files for Lion (OS X 10.7).

I've installed it on my MacBook Pro 8,2 (Early 2011 15" Core i7) and tested it with the IOGear GUC-232A. It works perfectly.
