I purchased a broken macbook pro on ebay. It was dropped, the screen was cracked, and the ribbon for the hard drive was broken. I purchased a new lcd screen which works perfectly and a new hd ribbon cable.
The computer is not recognizing the hd at all, even though I can hear it spinning, and the light on the front lights up so i know the cable is getting a good connection. I've used disk utility on the install disk and it doesnt see the hd, and I used gparted off of a cd and thats doesnt see it either. I've used three different working drives and all the same problem.
Any ideas as to what the next step should be to try and figure out whats wrong?
