Can I upgrade early 2010 15 inch MacBook Pro model from dual core to quad core? I know I can upgrade to 8GB RAM, but what about quad core?

Highly doubt it. With a MBP, you can effectively only upgrade the Hard Disk Drive and RAM.

different chipset, different logic board, no you can't upgrade. Laptop processors are RARELY upgradeable, since they take so much design to even fit all that inside the chassis.
