Hi Guys,

would you rather buy the 2.2 ghz 15 inch standard out the box or the 2.0 ghz and add 8 gb ram and 256 SSD? Im looking at the prices and not sure what to do...

Dont buy RAM from Apple. Get it yourself for half the price.

Spend more on the bits you cant upgrade yourself, like the processor and display etc.

Ram/Disk upgrades are pretty easy to do (just make sure you've got the right screwdrivers).

You want to wait until the new Sandforce SSDs come out (supposed to be within the month). The Vertex 3 is claiming 500+MB/s reads & writes, which if true will crush any consumer level drive out there.

I saw that article about the Vertex 3. That sounds quite nice. I would love to get a new 15" MBP and put one of those new Vertex 3 SSD's in there :D
