MacBook Pro "15 late 2011 Microphone jack problem, please help!

evening.

so i skype a lot while gaming, but currently i use the built in microphone because i can't seem to get the microphone jack to be working.. it causes a lot of problems because people in my Skype call can hear the fans and such.

i use this headset http://steelseries.com/products/audio/steelseries-siberia-v2

and i know the microphone works, because i also use it on my PC.

Hope you guys can help, and i have searched a bit on MR and on google, but no success so far.

i mostly want it to be working in bootcamp WIN7 (since thats where i play games)

Your problem is that there is no mic jack. There's a line level audio in but you can't connect a mic like that directly to it. There are threads that address this according to a quick Google search.

My headset only works if I pull it half a click out. FWIW.
