I recently resurrected my 11-year-old Pro that I stopped using a year ago because the AMD GPU failed.

I used dosdude's software flash tool and disabled the GPU.

I also removed the logic board and reapplied the thermal paste (hitting 90c on YouTube videos), changed both of the speakers (right speaker was distorting), upgraded the WiFi/bluetooth card to Bluetooth 4, and completely stripped the computer down to its individual components and cleaned everything.

I tested the laptop immediately after the dosdude flash and everything worked perfectly, but since the rebuild sleep has not worked: closing the lid does nothing.

Ive checked all the cables going to the logic board and the magnets on the front of the case, and they all seem fine. I'm wondering if there is something I've missed?

I've done an smc and nvram reset, an Apple Hardware Test (code 4SNS/1/40000001:VGOC-0.000, which i assume to refer to the disabled GPU), and I've also reinstalled High Sierra. Same outcome.

I'm guessing my problem is likely to be a hardware issue. Is there anything else I need to check?

Advice appreciated. Thanks.
