Macbook Pro 15" late 2016 upgrade Macbook Air 2022 10-core 16GB RAM, worth it?

Have an old MacBook Pro 15” late 2016 and Currently looking at the higher end MacBook Air M2 chip with 10-core 16GB Ram and wondering if the hefty price tag is worth the upgrade. Im a dev and using Xcode and android studio regularly which both run horribly on my current MacBook Pro. Both my old device and new MacBook Air have 16Gb. Odd upgrading 6 year old device with same amount of RAM. Not sure of the ram speed but just after opinions.

The M2 will be much faster than what you have now. As for whether 16GB will be enough, how much RAM do you use now?
