Hi,
I need to know if this is a systemic problem with newer Macbook Pro 15" with 2.66GHZ and 320GB hard-drives. I got this computer strictly for video-editing purposes in my vocation as a Technical Analyst, and within 2 mos of the purchase date, the firewire processing chip on my Logic Board seems to have somehow failed or been corrupted. Luckily this is under warranty, but that is little consolation when the hours of footage I need to capture are piling up.

Has anyone else had a problem with the logic boards in any Macbook Pro models purchased within the last 3-6 months??

Frustrated!

There are many users out there with 15-inch MacBook Pro's with no problems so I don't think it's reasonable to ask if this is a common problem. Are all computers perfect? No, it just looks like you got a bad computer that is all. If you search forums, I'm sure you will find users with failed logic boards but is it a common problem that Apple is setting up programs for them to be replaced? Definitely not.
