I'm an owner of the new i7 15' MBP and have an external 23 inch monitor (1920x1080). Im wondering what fps rate I should expect with the 512 MB Gt 330m at that resolution in oblivion. It is a fairly old game, but I'm not sure how well the 330m can handle 1920x1080. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello,
I know this doesn't answer your question, however Your post reminded me of this video I seen. It is a review of the 2009 17" mbp. I just thought you might find it interesting.

This leads me to believe that you should have a pretty good experience with the better specs and not multi-tasking. But don't take my word. I have no experience with it.

I remember running that game on a pretty dated Athlon64 machine with an Nvidia 6800GT... I guess it should be doing fine.

it should be. I don't know why it isn'tt running absolutely smoothly. I might have to tinker around and try to figure out whether some settings are messed up or something.

It runs on high settings on my mid 09 MBP with 512 9600 and 2.8ghz

you will be fine.
