So what should I get: a 15 " MacBook pro or a 11" MacBook air with studio beats headphones and an iPad2?

What are your uses? We need some info before we can steer you into the right direction.

You're confused.

Re: Headphones - head-fi.org

Why get a laptop and an iPad 2?

beats by dre?

seriously?

drop that garbage, pick up some AKGs or senns

I recommend getting an iPod nano and saving the rest for bail money. Then again you and I have different needs. hahahahahahaha

But in all seriousness, I acquired an iPad 2 in June and my 13" MBP about a month ago. Yeah the iPad is fun and helps in school and my MBP is a great machine, but I am honestly regretting not saving and getting the 15" with hi res screen. Especially now that the new updates are here. :/ Oh well, I'm getting the 2012 MBP, regardless if complete redesign or not.

roflolmfao @ Beats by Dr. Dre (MR forums won't let me say its real name)

MBP 15" is the clear winner by a million lightyears.

Do you have another computer already like a desktop Mac? If so, an Air might be good to complement that.

If it will be your only computer, you might want the 15-inch Pro or a 13-inch Air.

I tossed around the idea of the new 13" Air. If not for the ram limitation, I would have done it in a heartbeat. While I like the hi-res antiglare on the 15" MBP, I would make some sacrifices for the portability. If you don't have demands that will push the ram limits hard, then do that. Save $1000.

Get the 13 inch MBP, Grado headphones (made in Brooklyn), and

an Amazon Fire for $199. :D
