Hi, recently I came to realize that my MBP is running out of space way too quickly. I have transferred my master images off my MBP hard disk to a 2nd 1TB external hard disk but I still left with a 50GB Aperture Library. And I now left with about 5GB of space left.

I am thinking of upgrading my MBP hard disk but I'm not sure how to upgrade all the files (images and etc). Will Time Machine able to help me? Also I have a 50GB Windows Partition going on so I guess I have to backup that one separately then the Mac I guess?

Also, anyone know if it's ok to upgrade my 15" MBP hard disk? It's the first version with multitouch.

and do I have any other options?

You can restore from time machine, and yes you will have to back your windows partition separately. Other options could be more external drives? But for convenience and speed I would upgrade the hard drive. It is a user replacable part.

I can't remember the options but think you can go up to 500gb have a look on Mroogle.
