I bought my Macbook Pro 15" in 2007. Currently running on Mac OS X 10.6.8. I don't know if any of that matters..

Anyways, I have gone through 3 power adapters and 2 batteries. The ones I just bought were from Amazon and don't have the Apple brand on them. I got the battery first, and had trouble getting my computer to recognize it. Now it's always hit and miss. Is there anything I can do to solve that?

I just got my new power adapter. I got the 85W. It will power my computer, but it won't charge my battery. Does anyone have any answers for me, other than getting a new laptop? Haha

Thanks in advance

I wouldn't trust or recommend any non-Apple battery or charger, especially due to the number of problems reported with "knockoff" batteries. Also, there is no assurance that knockoff batteries and chargers have the same charging technology that Apple uses, involving the battery, the MagSafe adapter and the Mac's logic board. I recommend you buy only Apple components.
