I have one Macbook Pro 15" Retina, and two Mac Mini late 2012 models hooked to two 5 port HDMI switches driving two ViewSonic 23" displays. It has worked great for a year or so. Each computer has one HDMI to HDMI cable and one Thunderbolt to HDMI cable. A USB switch switches the mouse and keyboard. One remote controls both HDMI switches, and the USB switch is a mechanical pushbutton thing.
I upgraded the Mini's to Mavericks around three months ago, but the Macbook Pro belongs to work and they didn't want to upgrade until they had it security tested. Well, they gave their blessing, and I upgraded, and the video setup no longer works reliably.
When I go to either of the Mini's, the Laptop starts flashing, and when I go back to the laptop, it and both external monitors go black. Nothing short of a power cycle of the laptop seems to bring the display back. It happens every time. I can flip over to either Mini and the display works fine. It does not seem to matter whether I have the Thunderbolt or HDMI cable plugged in, or both.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Dave
