Macbook Pro 15" throttling problem

I have a Macbook Pro 15" mid 2012 and since I bought it there is a throttling problem. I read that it happens with retina models mostly but it seems like they fixed it with the latest EFI update. They didn't release any update and I still have this problem. Sometimes SMC reset works but sometimes it doesn't work. I play games through an external monitor and I noticed that when I use the laptop monitor throttling is gone. I also use ThrottleStop but didn't see any difference. Is there anything else that I can do?
