Hello all

I was lucky enough to find one yesterday at a local store with no pre-order:
Apple M1 Max chip with 10-core CPU, 32-core GPU, and 16-core Neural Engine
64GB unified memory
4TB SSD storage

Been running Monterey out the gate, and it's been super fast, but one big problem... Everything crashes whenever the computer goes to sleep, and I'd have to log in and see the computer boot back up. I'm not a tech-savvy person, but here's what I can gather from speculation.

1. My Apollo Twin UAD driver was a pain in the ass to install - the new privacy/security runaround to allow extension installs was a pain, and my computer crashed once from this. Not sure if this driver is not fully compatible with the M1 Max or what because it worked flawlessly on my 2019 MBP 16'' i9 that was running Monterey Beta.

2. I had my Mag Safe plugged in + the cable from LG 5K monitor; maybe this was the confusion for the computer to not nap properly. Honestly didn't even notice that I had both plugged in. Still playing around with some stuff to see what's what.

Other than this problem, this computer is absolutely a beast, and I honestly recommend it for anyone who needs to do some heavy lifting or is tired of being bonded to their Mac Pro desktops. Highly recommend the M1 Max to anyone who's considering a power station on the go.

Thanks again, and I hope the community can chime in and resolve this.

Update: I unplugged the Mag Safe and I can't tell if it's longer period naps/sleeps that causes the crash.

Go to applications/utilities. and open console. That will let you see a list of errors or system logs. You might see if it is a certain app or driver.

Thanks guys! I think it is UAD. I turned it off and let it sleep for about an hour - no cash.

Yea. It's the UA drivers. I work at Sweetwater. We've been testing it with Monterey and I just got the new MacBook Pro as well. Same issue. Pro Audio companies seem to always lag a bit behind when it comes to support of new OS's and chips..

Yeah, when I turn off the Apollo twin and put the Mac to sleep we're fine.
