Hello.
How fast does your MacBook discharge while turned off?
I've had MacBook Pro 16" since February, with 5 cycles on my battery and the battery health at 99.9%.
I recently did not use the MacBook for 1.5 month and when I picked it up I found it completely dead at 0%, even though I left it at 80-90%.
I decided to inspect the problem and after resetting the SMC I left it powered off at 55% for 8 days.
I was aware that the percentage displayed at the top is not always correct, so I noted the battery capacity with CoconutBattery before and after.
After 8 days I effectively lost 13% of the total battery capacity (Note: the difference between the macos battery percentages before and after was 13% as well).
My experiment partially explains why I found my MacBook dead after 1 month and a half, and I'm a bit concerned.
I really hate sending my laptop to repair because I've had terrible experiences in the past.
I would like to know if this issue is widespread, or if I really should have my mac repaired.
Please keep in mind that a small discharge in the first 24% after charge/use is physiological (not more than 5%).
After the first 24 hours you should not lose more than 3% in a month: http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/elevating_self_discharge
Thanks a lot.
