Hello, I am finally ready to trade in my 2018 15 macbook pro for the 16 inch version.

i am leaning towards the base version but had a question about the graphics card. 5300 vs 5500 4 gb.

Is that the 5500 that much better at 4gb? I can get the base version tomorrow but the 5500 would take 2 weeks.

i dont play many games or so much video editing. I do watch videos, web browsing, and some work.

thanks

If you aren't doing graphics work, I'm sure the 5300 will more than suffice. Your workload sounds quite light. Don't spend money you don't need to unless you think in the coming years you'll need more graphics power and graphics ram.

I actually got the base version, but waited the two weeks for 5500 4GB. Will it make a huge difference? Probably not, but the upgrade was only $100, so I waited for it.

Base model is plenty powerful for the vast majority of use cases. This may help a little.

Honestly, if you upgrade anything, make it the GPU, but for your use, I recommend the base like the one I bought. I have never been happier with a computer.
