MacBook Pro 16" & External NVIDIA GPU

I bought the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Founders Edition 12GB Graphics Card this past Thursday. Would I be able to use it with my MacBook Pro 16" in an external GPU enclosure? Is the NVIDIA supported?

Is the entire OS performance improved using an external GPU or just certain apps that support it?

Starting with catalina, nvidia gpus are no longer supported or recognized (officially). additionally the tb3 port is bandwith limited so the card performance would be hampered anyway. youre better off putting it in a deskop

The 2019 16” MacBook Pro only runs on macOS Catalina or later (or Windows in Bootcamp.)
