I purchased brand new Macbook Pro 16 Late 2019 and just after 1 day of work on it I revealed these strange discoloration dots below the left speaker grille. It is the place where I rest my left palm - could it be that the sweat from the palm corroded the surface in just 1 day? Is there any way to fix this other than returning the unit? I found a method on youtube of putting some toothpaste and slightly rubbing the surface with soft cloth but I'm afraid of worsening the damage.

Toothpaste has mild abrasives in it, so I wouldn't try that either on one you might return. I haven't seen that before. If you haven't seen it on your other laptops, I'd return it.
