Hi to all!

Last year I compared audio quality (lossless and atmos music reproduction) between my beloved 16" M1 Pro and a "new" 16" M3 Max. The winner for me was clearly the M1 Pro (less harsh and digital sound with more warm/body/organic and low notes).

Who has tested the 16" M4 Pro/Max speakers sound quality?

Notebookcheck has actual sound measures on each series. Agree on M3 Pro 16"--flat and dull. Have an M1 Pro, also, and noticed it right away (since returned it -- back to M1 Pro). Notebookcheck confirmed my suspicion with showing a reduced bass and less linear sound on their measures for M3 Pro 16".

Apparently, the measures look better on the M4 Pro, according to Notebookcheck--but not not as good as M1 Pro doing a side-by-side. I think the other performance improvements make it worth a listen.

That's interesting. I moved from a 16" M1 Pro to an 14" M4 Pro and I think the sound on my 14" M4 Pro is better than my old M1 Pro. Both sound amazing for laptop sound, but the M4 just has a slightly fuller lower end and crisper high range to me. However, it might be coming at the cost of the mid-range. The mid-range sounds slightly over-boosted on some tracks.
