I was looking at my Eero data logs last night and noticed that my MacBook Pro 16" is using an insane amount of Wifi data while sleeping and plugged in. You'll see that when I unplugged it to use that charger for my work computer during the day, the data usage stopped, only to resume again when plugged back in.

I have no idea what is using all this data. How can I see what the culprit is?

The only thing I can think is something to do with iCloud photos syncing or the like? Do you have Power Nap on, Maybe try turning that off and see if that changes anything?

I don't think it's tied to iCloud Photos because when I look through the week and month, massive amount of usage is happening daily. More than the total data I have in my iCloud photo library.

I'll try turning of power nap and see if that helps, but whatever this is, it's very concerning.

Looking into it, Power Nap on AC does allow the system to do Time Machine backups, is that applicable to your situation?

"I use BackBlaze for my backup, but that only works when the computer is awake."

Suggestion:
TURN OFF backblaze for 24-36 hours.
See if this changes anything.

Is there any chance you are sleepwalking and are streaming 8K movies at 3AM?

I like this answer. I would try turning off any other syncing services (iCloud, etc.).
