I have bought a MacBook Pro 16" and immediately after unboxing it, I have tested all the keys.
Unfortunately I've recognized, that the "cursor up" key is making a weird click noise, as if there is something sticky under it.
After pressing it a couple of times, the sound goes back to normal. And then back to the "sticky sound" again.
(I have spilled some coke on a keyboard a couple of years ago, and this led to the same sticky sound. I hope you know what I mean).

So what should I do? Genius Bar? Or is there a safe way to remove the key cap and clean the part below it?

Don't bother troubleshooting. Just ask for an exchange. Do it before you switch horses. It's not yet a huge inconvenience to go without your computer for a week.

I have an appointment at the Genius Bar now. Let's hope that they can fix it there without having to wait for a whole week.

Yes, apple has gone to extreme lengths to ensure that you don't open the computer and even when you do, there's little you can do, so just have them check it out

As of now, my cursor up key doesn't have the problem any longer. Maybe the keys just had to be used over a short time?

Don't go to the Genius Bar, just have them exchange the whole machine. I'd think that is much easier and faster.
