Hi guys,
This is my first mac, I'm moving my self from pc to mac :)
I planning to get a Macbook Pro 17" for music editing and recording using pro tools. Not much of recording, most time using on music editing.
I need some recommendation.
Should I go for HD or SSD ?
I heard SSD will cause problem after a while for recording purposes.
Is that true?

How complex are your projects going to be? What kind of recording setup do you have? SSDs don't have a fantastic write speed, but unless you're doing crazy multitrack sessions (32+ tracks), you won't be saturating either type of drive anyway.

Personally if I were in your situation, I'd probably get the traditional drive and sink the savings into a high-quality external drive and an eSATA ExpressCard. Way more bang for your buck, and better-suited to your needs.

Hi,
Average one session I use 30+ mono tracks.
Ok thanks for the recommendation :)
