Macbook Pro 17 2011

My hard drive was dying in my MacBook Pro so I got a 1TB OWC
SSD with hardware so I could backup to the SSD. What I did do
though was download High Sierra and installed on SSD (external).
Set it all up and replaced the old hard drive with the ssd. All went
well and I then got my backup and restored all my files. This also
went well. I just done a blackmagic speed test and have found out
I cannot write to my main ssd.I can only write to home. I cannot
change in get info as I do not have permission to do anything.

Help

P.S I am getting 500 mb/s on this SSD. is that right?

That's the way it's supposed to work, you can't just write wherever you want. You have to write somewhere that your user has permissions.

500MB/s is the right speed
