I've had my 17 inch MacBook Pro for about 5 years, and the bottom corner of my screen became cracked a few months ago (not the screen itself, but the plastic outside. Over the past several weeks, the plastic below the screen has slowly cracked and now thew screen has become detached, held in place by three orange material things (forgive my lack of knowledge of specific computer terms!) Can I take this to a Mac store and have this easily re-attached without paying a small fortune? I've seen people write about getting new screens, but the screen is fine, and indeed my laptop still works, but I worry that as soon as the three orange things holding it all together break then I will be left with a full screen, a functional computer, but no way to have them correlate. Please help!

A picture would help but I imagine if you took it into the store they would be able to give you an estimate on the repair costs.

You can also look for used parts on ebay
