It´s being discussed in many other threads. But I get approx 5,5 hours
on full brightness, bluetooth off and free use of various light programs
(i.e. safari/firefox, word et cetera).
If I use it under strain (gaming, photoshop, DVD et cetera) I get approx 4 hours.

My main use, however, is word. At one step down from full brightness and with both bluetooth and airport off, I´m at 7+ hours

I would say the battery is phenomenally good compared to other notebooks, but not more than ok (and frankly a wee dissapointing) compared to the promised 8 hours from Apple.

I get at least 8 hours at half brightness if I am doing basic stuff. The key is using the 'stop dashboard' widget, it gets rid of the dashboard process and increases battery life by about an hour. Yet, you can still restart it using F4.

Right now it is saying 9:33 at 98 with brightness at four dots.

Does cutting dashboard really give a hole hour worth?
I´m guessing it will depend strongly on how many apps you have running.
I noticed that only 1 (out of 50) processes was stopped when I tried the app you mention.

I would be very interested to hear other smart suggestions on how to prolong battery life. Anyone?
