I am thinking on buying a mac and cannot decide on the 15 inch 2.0 ghz vs 2.2 ghz and my main reason to consider the 2.2 ghz is because the graphics card is significantly better i did a lot of research and i want to get the one that would be best for my needs and i dont want to get the 2.2 ghz if i dont see much of a difference

my main uses are

-small gaming
-lots of hd video watching
-editing videos through imovie (i will do it but only occasionally and its not my main priority)
-windows 7 through bootcamp
-lots of internet browsing
-lots of multitasking
-last at least 3 years

i was just wondering on which model to get or even wait for the next gen macbook pros if they come in 2011 and i just wanted to here some input from the macrumors community

is it worth the 300$ dollar upgrade?

the 2.2 with the GPU is better for gaming.

but if you get the GPU, when you run in bootcamp, IIRC that's the only graphics you can use. You cannot switch back to the integrated one, which makes for rather bad battery life in windows...

I would shell out the extra $$$ for the 2.2, just for this reason:

-small gaming

Unless you're only playing 6-year-old games, you will notice a difference.

thanks and also are there any new leaks to when the next macbook pro comes out

A macbook air would be powerful enough for you. Go with the base model unless you plan on gaming a lot.

and my gaming would be stuff like asphalt adrenaline 6 because most of my big gaming is done on the ps3 :p

Then the base model would be just fine for you, games like that will play relatively well in a 5 years old computer.

unless there are new leaks (i already saw the TUAW) that prove there is a new macbook pro coming before Christmas 2011

Windows battery life sucks anyways.

That post made no sense, but to clarify - there will be no update before Ivy Bridge. If we see an 'update' at all, it will include BTO options for some potential new high-end Sandy Bridge CPU's at year end.
