Macbook Pro 2.2 mouse freezing

Very often my mouse and keyboard on my 2.2 Santa Rosa will stop responding. Its not the computer that is freezing up, because music keeps playing, etc. and I don't get the beachball.

This happened after the 10.5.2 update. I have installed all the Apple updates, reset the SMC and the PRAM, and it still won't stop.

Any ideas?
