macbook pro 2006 "a1150" mouse glitch

My laptop has stopped booting in normal mode only safe mode (shift). Its usable. as far as safe mode goes. but the mouse courser has that odd box that fallows it.

I've done a complete format and reinstall. booting the dvd 10.4 and 10.5 i still get the glitch witch leads me to believe that its hardware, not softwae. My guess would be Video card. all so have booted with Verbose Mode there where no errors that i can see.



any help would be much appreciated.

I have all so removed the battery and am letting it sit for a few hours. I do not think that will fix it. here is a photo in safemode with the glitch and one in Apple’s Hardware Test with out the glitch.
