Hello there,
I'm having this weird problem with my MBP.
The model is the A1212, has 4GB RAM, 2,33GHz Intel Core 2 Duo running OSX Lion 10.7.5
I bought this laptop several years ago without a battery. Never had any problems with it. But now past week i got myself a brand new battery, to finally start using this machine like it was meant to be:
a LAP top.
Problem is that now it suddenly shuts down when it's on battery. Sometimes after an houre, sometimes even after 10 minutes.
i've been searching over the net and i see alot about a bad battery.
Anyone had this problem with a NEW battery? It just has had 2 charge cycles.
When it shut down, i can just boot back up, and the battery percentage remains as where it shut down.
This is at total random, but only happens on battery.
I've found loads of solutions on this website on other problems, so hereby a big thanks to all the members that are devoting themselves to solve the problems.
Kinda hoping that someone had this problem before and might know what the problem might be.
Things i did:
- resetting the PRAM-SMU (CMD-ALT-P-R)
- resetting the SMC (without battery + pwb)
- cleaning battery contacts on battery and laptop
- tape on the wire (heatsink problem)
If there are any other suggestions, thanks in advance ;-)
Greetzz
Yves
