My MBP (Summer 2007) has started acting up in the last 2 days, with 2 issues:
1. It will not sleep when the screen is closed - getting a very toasty bag when I take the MBP out at work! When I open up the screen, I do not get the password prompt and have to force shutdown.
2. Once I have forced the shutdown and restart, the MBP will boot twice before going through the startup sequence to my login screen.

Up until 2 days ago (at the time iPhone OS 3.0 was released), did not have any problems whatsoever. Updated my iPhone to OS 3.0, and that's when the problems started.

I cannot see how the iPhone update would/could possibly effect the MBP's power management - I have trashed the power management preferences, zapped PRAM, reset PMU RAM.

Would appreciate any assistance.

Thanks

not sure about the restarting but you can make the computer go into sleep mode instantly by disabling safe sleep in the console.
