Hi,

I have an early 2011 macbook pro 15". But my screen has 2 vertical blue lines and case has a crack. I found a 2008 macbook pro unibody. If I buy that one, is it going to be compatible with 2011? I want to change the screen and I want to change the case. I will use my existing board, ram, harddisk etc. I will use just the case and screen from the other one.

Thanks,

The 2008 has a different arrangement of ports along the left (MDP in front of USBs; expresscard 34 instead of SD), and a different shape battery compared to the 2011.

So the 2008 case is no good for you, but I would check iFixit and other sources to confirm compatibility with 2009/10 cases, since although they are identical externally, there may be internal differences preventing you from swapping over the internals from your 2011 model.

Thank you for your answer. How about lcd? Is LCD will fit my macbook pro?
