Sorry I've been off the Radar for a while. I remember people saying that were made of 'glass', is this true?

Edit: Just because with my last Mac (Whitebook Intel, original batch), the track pad wore off and went all shiny and it used to reflect light and annoyed the hell out of me.
 
The trackpads are coated, what with I'm not too sure.

You can tell it's coated because it feels much smoother and friction-less than the glass on the display.

Anyway, I doubt you'd even notice if this coating wore off.

It could just be etched/frosted glass, which would probably be very difficult to wear off.
