I have a "new to me" MBP 15" 2010 ....and it's working fine.

Running Big Sur High Sierra (thanks to the OpenCore Legacy Patcher), but the bottom of the case seems pretty warm to me.

Update: I rebooted into High Sierra and it's running fine now.

So, even though I can run Big Sur on this thing, it runs HOT!

After letting the MBP run the patched Big Sur for a while, plugged and just idling, the heat problem seems to have abated a bit. I think it’s still a bit cooler booted into HS, but it’s seems OK in Big Sur.

Getting boot camp to work has not been easy though. Tried to install and test Win 10 Pro, but it’s not stable. That’s a different issue.
