Need help. I just did an erase of my macbook 2010 drive and Im trying to install the OS but I keep getting a prompt saying its not available. I tried downloading the OS file via my windows laptop and creating a bootable drive but it still reverts to internet recovery.

There are a couple of different internet recoveries.
Shift-Option-Command-R during startup gives you MacOS Lion.
Option-Command-R during startup gives you whatever the last supported OS is for the 2010 MBP.

Have you tried both options? What promps are you getting exactly? Where exactly did you download macOS from a PC - are you sure you made a bootable drive?
