Im still using an Old Mbp 15'' from Time to Time. Lately i noticed some slight Performance Problems on Standard tasks, but i thought they are is related. Today though i Started Tales of monkey Island (Game with rather low sys requirenents) and the game starts to get unplayable after about five minutes.
Checking the system i found a northbridge chip temp of 92 degrees celsius. letting it cool down and restarting the game it was smooth until it hit 91deg. interestingly the fan was running slowly. i tried the typical smc/pram reset but to no avail. even manually turning the fans up to full speed did not have an effect on the nb temp.
so last step i also tried to clean as much dust as possible out of the mbp with no effect either (did not remove the logic board though - no fitting screwdriver here).

has anyone else experienced this problem or can think of a solution?
